Today I cataloged 79 more cards of drawer 6 of the sheet music collection project. There are more spelling discrepancies to check against the hard copy music upstairs (highlighted in red and yellow). Jeanette, could you please also let me know what you think of the title for card/row 230 because it's confusing and I'm not sure if the whole of that info belongs there or also somewhere else. I've changed the spreadsheet, per your request, to take the brackets and "n.d." out of the date/leader field, but it's still going to be on the previous spreadsheets because I didn't know about the mistake then. Otherwise, the only question I have is what to do with information on the card that's not really instrumentation info per se, but more like a description of what the music is for, such as "two step" or "hesitation waltz song" (rows 199 and 231). I don't know if they're supposed to be in the instrumentation field or note field or some other (for now I've put them in the note field; please let me know if this is incorrect and needs to be changed). Thanks!
Hi Shab,
ReplyDeleteRow 230 is fine since that's how it appears on the card. I think Row 199 is something that would have to be checked with the actual sheet music. Row 231 is fine. Instrumentation vs. note is going to continue to come up so just put it where you think it fits best if it seems confusing. We're going to have to verify most of those terms anyway.
Thanks!
