Old Vault Letters, Michelle Godfrey - Oct 3, 2012

Today I switched off and read through the four letters Elaine did last week.

Becoming familiar with Gen.  Houston’s handwriting continues to be a test.  I'm not sure I noticed in previous letters if there were times when Houston would split a word rather than write it together as one whole word. I saw something written that could have been one word split into two parts. Unfortunately, even if this was the case, I still could not guess what this word is.
[?o?]

On this particular script, both Elaine and I were stumped.

Another quirky thing is with the letter ‘x’ because it usually looks a lot like a lower case ‘s’ and ‘c’ mashed together. When the letter 'x' was more disconnected, it made the word ‘Texas’ look like ‘Tescas’.
Texas

  1. Oh man. I had noticed that about his Xs, but that Texas just looked so much like a perfect and deliberately-written C and S...! Good thing there's 2 of us. :)
